Computational reuse is covered in most college-level algorithms texts. Introduction to Algorithms, Second Edition by Thomas Cormen, Charles Leiserson, Ron Rivest, and Clifford Stein is a classic text on algorithms, with examples presented in easy-to-read pseudo-code. It is an unfortunately common misconception that algorithm choice is not important when programming in a high-level language such as PHP. Hopefully the examples in this chapter have convinced you that that's a fallacy.
